Part One of Six – Summer Symposium
“I never realized that I needed this retreat,” I remember saying to myself as I drove down the gravelly driveway exiting Whitehead Manor. As always, with every extended professional development opportunity, I have a mix of feelings from irritation at committing a full week of my life to something, to fear of the unknown. The retreat proved to be essential to my professional development and my personal convictions. The week long symposium which explored the essentials of character in the classroom appealed to my interests because I love learning about and dealing with issues centered on refining the integrity of our souls.
