Educators who attend this workshop will learn:\n• about the neuroscience behind trauma and attachment issues\,\n• how to reconsider the “misbehavior” of students exposed to trauma\, and\n• how to address these concerns.\n\nThis is an encouraging workshop that identifies things you already do that make a difference and teaches new tools to help you reach students more effectively. Most importantly\, this workshop will be good for you\, your school and all your students.\n\nYou’ll receive two excellent references created for teachers:\n• First\, the DVD\, “Building Resilience: Working with Students Exposed to Trauma\,” by Dr.Jody McVittie\, MD\, along with simple instructions that will guide you in sharing this important work with your staff. ONE PER SCHOOL\n• Second\, a copy of Help for Billy: A Beyond Consequences Approach to Helping Challenging Children in the Classroom by Heather Forbes. With a focus on students who have special needs related to trauma and attachment issues\, it\, too\, provides guidance on interventions.\n\nOur schedule for Saturday will be:\n• 8:00 – 8:30 Breakfast\n• 8:30 – 12:00 View “Building Resilience\,” stopping to practice experiential activities you can do with your staff\n• 12:00 – 12:30 Lunch\n• 12:30 – 3:00 Focus upon Help for Billy\, reviewing traditional approaches in education and new views that can make a big difference for students exposed to trauma.\n\nREGISTER HERE: http://bit.ly/PosDisRes\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
